In the 1960s, she was one of the biggest box-office draws. 1959's Pillow Talk was her film debut and earned her an Academy Award nomination as well as a Golden Globe. Henry Willson

Henry Willson, an American talent agency, was a key figure in the rise of beefcakes in the 1950s. This popular movie trend was possible because of his connections to Hollywood talent. His connections helped him land several major Hollywood roles, including the role of rock Hudson. Here are some of Willson’s most memorable moments that made him a legend. In his own words, "I'm proud of my job."

Willson began acting as a child and was soon signed to Universal Studios. He was initially cast in minor roles, but he eventually became the lead actor in Scarlet Angel (1952). Later, he was a romantic lead in films like Magnificent Obsession as a playboy-brain surgeon. Although Willson may look like a sleazy, aristocratic Hudson at first glance, his career lasted three decades.

Phyllis Gates

Phyllis Gates (Rock Hudson's secretary) was incredibly photogenic. Marlon Brando's young son was awestruck by her when she met her in New York City. Their meeting reminded me of a social at the church or county fair. But the two of them remained very much a couple, and many people believe that Henry Willson arranged their marriage.

Hudson portrays a womanizing song-writer who shares a party line. Rock Hudson talks over the phone with Gates, and we are permitted to listen to their conversations. Similar to "The Shop Around the Corner", "Pillow Talk” is reminiscent of classic films such as "You've Got Mail."
